TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California almost 30 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. Read More.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxLasVegas, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxLasVegas events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
TEDxLasVegas is an independently organized event licensed by TED. We host locally organized events in order to promote and accelerate ideas, creativity, innovation and culture to the rest of the world.
TEDxYouth@LasVegas is designed to be a Global Youth Experience for the youth of Southern Nevada. In the past, we have worked with CCSD educators and students to expose them to educational resources and ways to make a difference in their schools and local community. Our event for TEDxYouth@LasVegas often happens at the same time as TEDxYouth Weekend.
In the past, our community has put together TEDxEastFremontWomen and TEDxLasVegasWomen. TEDxEastFremontWomen was designed to be a production for a select number of attendee along with a simulcast of TEDWomen. In 2015, we hosted just the simulcast for TEDWomen with TEDxLasVegasWomen. TEDxLasVegasWomen was a chance for us to combine some resources so we could help build the type of production we envision for Southern Nevada through TEDxLasVegas.
